You’re going to have people who are going to say ‘Oh, you know like, she just writes songs about her ex-boyfriends’ and I think frankly that’s a very sexist angle to take. No one says that about Ed Sheeran. No one says it about Bruno Mars. They’re all writing songs about their exes, their current girlfriends, their love-life, and no one raises a red flag there.
i’m literally in tears at taylor saying ‘i hope you don’t feel guilty for not feeling good’ because that’s SO IMPORTANT and so often people’s advice is HEY JUST BE HAPPY!!! STOP BEING SAD JUST BE HAPPY!!! but it doesn’t WORK like that and sometimes what you need is for someone to acknowledge that you’re trying your best and if that someone is international superstar taylor swift that has to feel pretty damn special
I think with every celebrity story there has to be a “Yeah, but…” Take Beyonce: She’s incredibly talented, gorgeous, perfect role model for girls, empowering women all over the world. “Yeah but… let’s try to pick at her marriage.” I think every celebrity has that. And predominantly women, unfortunately.
